About this product

  • This grab-and-go TableTop Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope provides powerful views of the Moon and bright planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars
  • Weighing just 6.5 lbs. assembled, this compact telescope and base can be taken just about anywhere to provide great views of the night sky while on road-trips, camping, or the short trip out to the backyard
  • 90mm aperture Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope gathers enough light for beautiful views of brighter deep space objects like globular clusters, nebulas, and many bright galaxies
  • Nifty tabletop base provides a stable viewing foundation you can set on any sturdy table, or even attach it to a field tripod with a 3/8" or 1/4"-20 threaded post
  • Includes two 1.25" eyepieces (25mm and 10mm focal lengths), EZ Finder II reflex sight for easy aiming, 90ø mirror diagonal for comfortable night sky viewing, and more!

An included Orion EZ Finder II reflex sight lets you aim the 90mm telescope with ease.

Following a simple alignment procedure that parents can help with, you can use the EZ Finder II sight to accurately aim the StarMax 90mm TableTop Mak-Cass telescope at objects in the sky like the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, just turn on the EZ Finder II and peer through the sight's small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see to place it in the telescope's field of view.

Start stargazing with the 25mm eyepiece for 50-power views.

The included 25mm eyepiece provides a 50-power view in the StarMax 90mm Mak-Cass. The 25mm is a great eyepiece to use first when you stargaze with the telescope each night, since it provides a larger, less magnified window of night sky for you to view. This lower magnification makes it easy to find objects to explore in the night sky.

Increase magnifying power with the 10mm eyepiece.

After you've scanned the skies with the 25mm eyepiece in the StarMax 90mm telescope, take a closer look at interesting objects by swapping out the 25mm with 10mm eyepiece to boost magnification from 50x all the way up to 125x. The more powerful view in the 10mm focal length eyepiece reveals details such as craters and mountains on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, and brighter moons of Jupiter.

Use the included 90ø star diagonal for comfortable views of the night sky.

A diagonal "bends" the light path of a telescope so you can enjoy the view without having to contort yourself into awkward positions to peer into the eyepiece. The 90ø star diagonal that comes with the StarMax 90mm TableTop Telescope yields bright images and provides a comfortable right-angle viewing orientation for nighttime stargazing of the skies above.

Great for the moon!

I looked at the moon and it was amazing! Unfortunately I went to look at mars and believe I will need more lenses! Otherwise awesome and I love it!

90mm Starmax Cassegrain

This is my first time buying a telescope, and I have to say it was worth the reasonable price. It is an excellent scope for beginners like myself, especially for nearby celestial objects and for terrestrial viewing. With it I have been able to look at the features of the moon in excellent detail, as well as the bands of Jupiter and its four big moons, and other objects invisible to the ***** eye. In addition to this, it is great for use on land during daytime, such as for bird-watching or landscape features. The components are simple to assemble and use, and the red dot sight makes aligning the scope with objects easy. Overall the Starmax is a good tool to familiarise with astronomy, before buying trickier and higher-quality scopes. Cheers.
