This microscope is designed for the specimens/slides that are not transparent. In this case, the optical system is not able to receive the transmitted lights from the bottom so the reflected EPI lighting system is introduced. The light goes down through the objective and reflected by the specimen and travels back to eyepieces and camera(if mounted) through the same objective. Unlike other metallurgical microscopes on the market, this one has a quaduple nosepiece, instead of a triple nosepiece. It also comes with 5 high quality PLAN field achromatic objectives (the top level of objectives) which provide up to 1600x magnification. It gives you wide range of the magnifications and more flexibilities. The long vertical focusing travel distance (2") and large stage movement range allow thick and large specimens. It also has a photo port/tube to accomodate cameras for the computers or the monitors. The power supply is 100v-240v universal for worldwide use. This microscope is perfect for metallurgical and electronic industries.
