Tasco 8x25 Binos Impress

Order to delivery very efficient. Binos although light and compact feel solid in the hand. I was impressed by the crisp image which has a sparkle in bright light conditions and even more so when looking under a shady forest plantation and seeing sufficient light gathering ability to reveal bark detail of the tree trunks. Modern optics have certainly come a long way in value for money. I am enjoying using these out on the hill. Cheers.

Should have bought these years ago

I grew up thinking that the best binoculars for general purpose use were 7 x 50s. Sure.... 7 x 50s are good, especially in dull conditions, but they are bulky. I recently purchased some 8 x 42s, and these are my 'best' ones. However, even they get in the way a bit. So I took a gamble and bought the compact Tasco Offshore 8 x 25s, and I love them. I took them hunting in the evening and found that they were perfectly adequate. If there is a significant difference between these and binoculars with larger objective lenses when it comes to clarity in darker conditions, I reckon it only applies to the very last few minutes before it gets totally dark. A hunter still needs to be able to clearly see the target at any time, especially at twilight, so a good telescopic sight is necessary for near-dark conditions.

Fast service from Jacobs and securely packed. Hard to tell size without holding it.
