The EQ6-R PRO Equatorial Mount from Sky-Watcher enhances the capabilities of the EvoStar 80ED with its advanced engineering tailored specifically for astrophotography. This mount’s equatorial design aligns the axis of rotation with the Earth’s axis, a crucial feature for tracking celestial objects smoothly and consistently across the night sky. This alignment is particularly vital during long-exposure astrophotography, where precise and steady tracking is needed to avoid star trailing and to maintain sharp focus on distant celestial objects. The belt-driven motors of the EQ6-R PRO reduce gear backlash, ensuring smoother tracking and reduced vibration, which are essential for capturing clear images. The mount’s robust build supports the EvoStar 80ED securely, while its fine-tuning capabilities in azimuth and altitude make polar alignment straightforward and accurate, facilitating exceptional astrophotographic results.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 80ED Doublet Refractor

As the largest quality refactor in its price range, the eagerly awaited Sky-Watcher 80/600 Evostar OTA means a big jump in light gathering power with the same resolution as the rest of the Sky-Watcher Evostar telescopes.  Observe fainter details of the Moon and the fine structures of Saturn, Jupiter and Mars.  Jewels of the southern skies like the thousands of stars in the globular cluster Omega Centauri and the wispy details of the Eta Carina nebula will be memorable sights for visual observers.

Combined with a suitable tracking mount such as the Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro, the 80mm aperture will let astrophotgraphers capture high contrast images of the planets and deep sky objects.

Integration for Ultimate Performance

Combining the Evostar 80ED with the EQ6-R Pro creates an optimal setup for exploring and documenting the night sky. The telescope’s ability to deliver high-contrast, colour-accurate images complements the mount’s precision tracking to allow amateur and professional astronomers alike to produce astrophotography of stunning quality. Whether you are capturing detailed lunar landscapes, solar phenomena, or deep-sky wonders, this pairing ensures that every session is maximised for the best possible outcomes. The integration of these advanced tools not only enhances the experience of stargazing but also elevates the art of astrophotography, making it accessible to a wider range of astronomers who seek to capture the beauty of the cosmos with exceptional clarity and detail.
