The SDC 2300 is making news already due to the compact folding design waterproof to ten feet, and its extreme sensitivity to small gold in very mineralized ground. The SDC 2300 is also quite simple to operate for such a powerful detector, making it a good choice for those not wanting to invest lots of time into becoming proficient with harder to learn detectors.
The Minelab SDC 2300 is fully waterproof and submersible to ten feet but the included headphones must be kept dry, only the cord can be submerged. To get the full use out of the ability to submerge the detector optional waterproof headphones are available. The four C cell batteries are inserted into the end of the SDC 2300 via a waterproof cap visible in the right-hand side of the picture below.
Easy Operation
Designed for simplicity. Just turn it on and start detecting with no complex setup required. It automatically handles Ground Balance and Noise Cancel, while minimal controls like the sensitivity dial and one-press Noise Cancel button make it easy to learn and use.
Military-Grade Build
Built with military-grade materials, this detector is made for durability in extreme environments. The carbon-fibre shafts stay rigid and durable for rough terrain and long-term performance. From sharp rocks to dense scrub and dry creek beds, every component is engineered to withstand the demands of serious gold seekers.
Audio and Visual Response
The SDC 2300 features 9 LED indicators that clearly show detection responses, battery charge level and threshold settings. An additional dedicated LED provides an early warning when battery power is low, helping you stay prepared during long sessions.
Submersion-Ready
Waterproof up to 3 m (10 ft), with sealed electronics and a rugged housing, the 8" Monoloop coil transitions easily from dry land to underwater goldfields. Its compact size is perfect for tight areas like rocky gullies, stream beds and uneven ground, offering reliable sensitivity and precision in challenging environments.
Light and Compact
SDC 2300 weighs just 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) and collapses down to 40 cm (15.7 in) for easy transport in backpacks and carry-ons. Unfold in seconds and start finding gold.
All-Terrain Performance
The SDC 2300 is a true all-terrain performer, built to handle harsh and variable ground conditions. With automatic ground tracking, it continuously adjusts to changing soil, maintaining stable operation as you move. Normal Mode suits a wide range of terrain, while Salt Mode is ideal for mineralised or salt-rich environments like beaches and salt lakes. Wherever you detect, the SDC 2300 adapts for reliable performance and greater gold recovery.
Compact & Rugged Design
The 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) SDC 2300 folds to 40 cm (15.7 in) for easy transport. Its hinged telescopic design collapses fast without disassembly, so you can pack light and start detecting quickly.
Submersion-Ready
The 8” Monoloop coil is waterproof to 3 m (10 ft), with sealed electronics. Its compact design works well in tight spots like creek beds, giving strong response and smooth handling.
High Performance MPF™ Technology
MPF™ technology rapidly switches between transmit and receive signals, enhancing clarity and reducing noise for sharper detection of small gold, even in mineralised ground. Designed for accurate, stable performance.
Visual & Audio Target Response
The SDC 2300 uses 9 LED indicators and audio tones to help identify a target’s size and depth. A soft, low tone signals a small or deep target, while a loud, high tone indicates a larger or shallower target.
Dual Battery Options
Power it your way with the included rechargeable Li-ion battery pack and charger, delivering up to 8 hours of runtime. You can also use 4 x C-cell 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included).
Wireless Audio Ready
The SDC 2300 comes with a built-in speaker and Minelab headphones, plus a 6-pin jack so you can plug in your own wired headphones. It’s also compatible with Koss waterproof headphones and the Pro-Sonic Wireless Audio transmitter for wireless audio (both sold separately).
Adjustable Audio Settings
Fine-tune your detecting experience with adjustable audio settings, including 9 levels of threshold control and low or high pitch options. Tailor sound responses to suit your hearing and ground conditions for clearer target signals and more confident detecting.
3-Year Warranty
3-Year Warranty Built to last and protected by a 3-year warranty.
