The Vanguard VESTA GO 234AP G2 is a lightweight aluminium travel tripod designed for video, photography and observation. Combining 23 mm four-section aluminium legs with the VEO PH-24 two-way pan head, it provides smooth directional control while remaining compact enough for travel and regular field use.

VEO PH-24 Two-Way Video Head

The included VEO PH-24 is an ARCA-compatible two-way pan head designed to provide straightforward control for video recording and observation.

A long operating handle provides precise control over vertical movement, while turning the handle allows the vertical tilt position to be locked or released. A separate pan lock controls horizontal rotation independently.

This arrangement makes the PH-24 particularly well suited to following moving subjects with a camera or spotting scope, where controlled horizontal and vertical movement is preferable to a freely moving photographic head.

360° Panning

The VEO PH-24 provides a full 360° panoramic swivel, allowing the mounted camera or optic to follow subjects across a wide area without repositioning the tripod.

A dedicated pan lock allows the horizontal axis to be secured independently when the desired composition has been reached.

Controlled Vertical Tilt

The PH-24 provides a vertical tilt range of approximately -60° to +90°.

The operating handle doubles as the tilt-lock control. Turning the handle releases or secures the vertical movement, allowing the user to reposition a camera or spotting scope quickly while retaining controlled movement.

Compact Travel Design

Portability is one of the main advantages of the VESTA GO 234AP G2.

The complete tripod kit weighs approximately 1.465 kg and folds down to just 44.5 cm, making it significantly easier to transport than a traditional full-size video tripod.

Despite its compact dimensions, the four-section legs extend to provide a maximum working height of 154 cm.

23 mm Aluminium Legs

The tripod uses four-section aluminium legs with a maximum diameter of 23 mm.

Lever-style leg locks allow each section to be extended and secured quickly, making the tripod particularly convenient when frequently changing locations.

The legs support equipment weighing up to 5 kg, providing sufficient capacity for most mirrorless cameras, smaller DSLR configurations and compatible observation equipment.

Three Leg Angles

Each tripod leg can be positioned independently at one of three angles:

• 20° – conventional working position
• 50° – wider stance for uneven terrain or lower positioning
• 80° – near-ground-level positioning

Independent leg-angle adjustment allows the tripod to adapt more easily to slopes, steps and uneven outdoor surfaces.

Low-Angle Photography

A split centre column allows the VESTA GO 234AP G2 to be configured for low-angle photography without requiring a separate conventional centre column.

In its lowest configuration, the tripod can position compatible equipment approximately 22 cm from the ground, making it useful for macro photography, landscapes, wildlife and other low-level perspectives.

Added Stability

A spring-loaded hook is positioned underneath the centre column.

Additional weight, such as a camera bag, can be suspended from this hook when increased stability is required in windy conditions or when working on less stable terrain.

Smartphone Adapter Included

A smartphone adapter is supplied with the tripod and accommodates smartphones approximately 54–87 mm wide.

The adapter can be mounted using the tripod's quick-release system or attached to another compatible accessory with a 1/4-inch mounting thread.

This allows the tripod to be used for smartphone video, photography, content creation and digiscoping applications in addition to conventional cameras and spotting scopes. A remote control is not included.

Suitable for Spotting Scopes

The two-way PH-24 pan head makes the VESTA GO 234AP G2 particularly suitable for observation with a spotting scope.

Independent horizontal panning and controlled vertical tilt allow a user to follow wildlife, birds or other moving subjects more naturally than with a conventional fixed photographic setup.

Its 5 kg capacity is suitable for most conventional spotting scopes while the compact tripod design remains practical for carrying into the field.
