New ZealandVanguard VEO 3+ 263AB Tripod
This is a great tripod - has all the features I want, is sturdy but relatively light. Well built
New ZealandGreat tripod
Really easy to use. Absolutely rock solid platform. I've used it for a 2 minute exposure with no hint of movement. I would recommend also getting an L Bracket for portrait style photos though. The only (minor) issue with the tripod is that it's quite big to carry. I've attached the carry bag to my backpack and it does extend on either side of me (and I'm not narrow myself). There are a couple of more in-depth reviews of this tripod available online, I'd suggest reading them first.
New ZealandHighly recommend
This was recommended to me by a professional macro photographer in England for that specific purpose, it is very good quality, the horizontal arm and ball head are very smooth operation.Travel tripods may be light weight but I would sacrifice that for stability every time. Whats an extra kg to carry.
