One familiar 10×42 format
Begin with general use. Take it further outdoors.
The Triumph HD is deliberately uncomplicated. Its full-size 10×42 format covers the everyday view first, then adds enough reach and field durability for beginning birdwatchers and hunters.
01
General use
Keep a capable binocular ready for coastal lookouts, rural property, outdoor events, travel, camping and observing wildlife from home. Ten-power magnification brings useful detail closer without requiring specialist setup.
02
Birdwatching
A roughly 111 m field at 1,000 m gives enough surrounding context to locate birds in parks, wetlands, estuaries and open habitat. The 4.7 m close-focus distance suits feeders and garden birds viewed from a little space away.
03
Hunting
Use the 10× view to scan clearings, timber edges and accessible ridgelines, then carry the binocular close in the supplied GlassPak™. Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction is designed for ordinary field weather and handling.
HD optical system
Keep useful information in view.
Select glass elements are used to control colour fringing and support resolution, colour fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness and transmission. Anti-reflective coatings cover every air-to-glass surface, while the roof-prism layout keeps the binocular body comparatively compact.
HD optical systemSelect glass elements help preserve resolution and reduce visible chromatic aberration.
Fully multi-coatedAnti-reflective treatments on all air-to-glass surfaces support transmission and clarity.
Roof prismStraight barrels provide a compact, durable body shape that is easy to pack and hold.
Honest entry-level designThe specification focuses on the core optical features needed for a useful first binocular.
Field of view
About 111 metres of terrain at 1,000 metres.
A 6.4° angular field gives the 10× view enough surrounding context to search a hillside, find a bird against open habitat and reacquire a moving subject after briefly lowering the binocular.

Size and carry weight
Full-size viewing without an oversized body.
At approximately 15.5 cm high, 12.7 cm wide and 649 g, the Triumph HD stays in the familiar full-size 10×42 class. The included harness moves that weight from the neck to the shoulders and keeps the binocular centred while walking.

Built for ordinary field conditions
Weather protection without complicated upkeep.
Nitrogen gas purging and O-ring sealing are used to resist internal fogging and water ingress, while rubber armour and shockproof construction protect the working binocular during normal outdoor use. Vortex does not publish an IP rating or submersion depth for this model.
Waterproof
O-ring sealing is designed to keep moisture, dust and debris outside during changing weather.
Nitrogen fogproofing
Internal nitrogen purging helps prevent fog forming inside the optical tubes through temperature changes.
Shockproof
The body is designed to tolerate the knocks associated with routine carrying, travel and field observation.
Rubber armour
A textured, non-slip exterior improves grip and adds a protective layer around the binocular housing.
Simple first-time setup
Set your eyes once. Use the centre wheel normally.
A short initial adjustment makes the binocular easier to use and reduces the urge to chase focus. The dioptre remains at your personal setting unless another user changes it.
Set eyecups and spacing
Twist the eyecups down when wearing glasses or outward without glasses. Open or close the hinge until two image circles become one complete circular view.
Focus the left eye
Choose a detailed target, cover the right objective or close the right eye, and turn the centre wheel until the left-eye image is sharply focused.
Balance the right eye
Cover the left objective or close the left eye. Rotate only the right-eye dioptre until the target is sharp, then return to normal viewing and use the centre wheel for both barrels.
GlassPak™ included
A first binocular should arrive ready to carry.
The supplied GlassPak™ harness and case keeps the Triumph HD protected at chest height and distributes its approximate 649 g weight across the shoulders. A conventional comfort neck strap is also included when a simpler carry option is preferred.
