Great For The Serious Beginner
This is great Scope for the series beginner. Compact enough to be portable and a solid build. The goto mount is excellent for finding your way round the night sky and having its own built in WiFi means you can operate it out in the field with out the need for internet. It operates on 8 AA batteries which seem to last ok for casual evening viewing. Have been using the scope on and off for the last 3-4 days (weather permitting) for 3-4hrs a night and the batteries are still going strong. The SynScan system is awesome and easy to use. Works well on an Ipad. The lens supplied 25m and 10m are good clear starters but Ive been using an good quality celestron Plössl 32mm and I noticed a big jump in sharpness and brightness. Its no hubble but you can still see crisp clear views of Saturn's rings and the the bands on Jupiter and detailed craters of the moon. If your starting to get serious this is an excellent starting point for the price moon pic taken with 25m supplied and cellphone. Actual image is much sharper but gives you an idea of what to expect from this scope
Knowledgeable and efficient service. All going well - only problem is with the clouds
Novice Telescope User, Happy Customer
Scope arrived the next day despite being rural delivery. Very impressed. I am a telescope novice, so I may not know what I am talking about, but to my untrained eye, the scope, mount and tripod seem excellent quality. The GOTO mount is easy to level and the software easy to use. initial alignment is pretty easy even for a nube like me. The only small thing I wish was different is the smartphone interface. I wish now I had chosen a GOTO scope with physical buttons to press on the controller rather than a completely smooth smart phone screen. When you are trying to align Jupiter to the exact centre of the field of view, you have to keep taking your eye away from the eyepiece to see where on your smartphone you are pressing to move the scope left/right/up/down. If I had a real tactile button to press I could do it by feel and never take my eye from the eyepiece. Fairly minor issue, but if I had known i think I would have chosen differently.
