Ten-power magnification helps resolve finer detail at distance, while 32 mm objectives keep the binocular short, slim and extremely light. The 10×32 format suits hiking, travel, wetlands, coastlines, open country, sport and birding where reach matters more than maximum low-light brightness.

More reach at 10×

Compared with 8×, ten-power magnification enlarges distant detail by a further 25%, helping with plumage, markings, shorebirds, raptors, wildlife and subjects that cannot be approached closely.

Compact 32 mm objectives

The smaller objectives keep the binocular much easier to carry than a 42 mm model. A 3.2 mm exit pupil is well suited to normal daylight observation, especially when portability is the priority.

16.0 mm eye relief

Kowa Optronics currently specifies 16.0 mm of eye relief for the SV III 10×32. Kowa Europe's product page currently lists 15.5 mm, so spectacle wearers should treat the manufacturer specification-table figure as the primary reference and still check personal fit.

Only 475 g

At 475 g, the SV III 10×32 is the lightest of the four current SV III models, making it especially attractive for travel, long walks and users who want ten-power reach without a heavy neck load.

The SV III uses fully multi-coated optics and phase-corrected roof prisms to preserve light, contrast and fine detail. Exterior KR coating helps keep the eyepiece and objective surfaces easier to maintain in real field use.

Fully multi-coated lenses and prisms

Multiple anti-reflective coating layers across the optical system improve light transmission and help maintain a clear, high-contrast field of view.

Phase-corrected roof prisms

Phase correction helps preserve resolution, contrast and accurate colour as light passes through the compact roof-prism system. Kowa launch data identifies a C2-coated prism system for the SV III.

Kowa KR protective coating

Applied to the exposed objective and eyepiece surfaces, KR coating repels water and oil, resists dirt and makes fingerprints or field residue easier to remove correctly.

3.2 mm exit pupil

Dividing the 32 mm objective diameter by 10× magnification gives a 3.2 mm exit pupil. That favours compact size and daylight portability over the greater low-light reserve of the 42 mm models.

Choose your SV III

The lightest way into 10× in the new SV III range.

The SV III family offers 8× and 10× magnifications in 32 mm and 42 mm formats. The 10×32 is the smallest reach-focused choice: 475 g, a 2.0 m close focus and a 117 m field give it a useful balance of portability and distant detail.

Choose 10×32 for compact reach

Best suited to travel, hiking, coastlines, wetlands, open country and observers who want 10× detail while keeping weight and packed size to a minimum.

Choose 8×32 for easier steadiness and a much wider field

The 8×32 is slightly heavier at 485 g but provides a much wider 152 m field and a larger 4.0 mm exit pupil. It is the easier choice for woodland, fast-moving birds and general close-to-medium observation.

Choose 10×42 for more brightness at 10×

The 10×42 retains ten-power reach while increasing the exit pupil to 4.2 mm and widening the field to 122 m. It is better suited to variable light and longer viewing, but it is larger and heavier at 555 g.

Set up once, then simply focus

A clear view in a few straightforward steps.

Correct eye position and dioptre calibration let the optical system show its full field and keep both eyes sharp. After that, the central wheel handles normal near-to-far focusing.

Set the eyecups
Retract the twist-up eyecups if you wear glasses; extend them if you do not. Fine-tune the position until the full field appears without dark crescents or blackouts.
Set the barrel spacing
Look through both eyepieces and move the barrels around the centre hinge until the two images merge into one comfortable circular view.
Focus the left channel
Set the right-eye dioptre index to zero, close or cover the right eye, then use the centre focus wheel to sharpen a detailed subject with the left eye.
Calibrate the right-eye dioptre
Keep the main focus position unchanged, view through the right eye only and rotate the dioptre ring until the same subject is sharp.
Use the centre focus wheel normally
With the dioptre calibrated, view with both eyes and turn the central wheel to move from the 2.0 m close-focus distance through to infinity.
