About this product

A fan favourite has just got even better!

The metal detector that redefined performance just got a major upgrade. Meet the Nokta Legend 2 — an evolution of the groundbreaking original, now enhanced with smarter discrimination, improved audio clarity, faster pinpointing, and a lighter, more agile build. Whether you're hunting coins at the park, relics in the field, or gold on the fringe, the Legend 2 is built to make every swing count.

Precision You Can Trust
The Legend 2 now features a wider Target ID range (01–99) — a big step up from the original’s 01–60 scale. This means finer separation between targets like coins, relics, gold, and trash. You’ll dig smarter, with more confidence.

New Relic Mode
A brand‑new Relic Search Mode joins the existing Park, Field, Beach, and Gold modes. Whether you’re chasing history in iron-littered soil or working open pasture, Legend 2 gives you more control over what you hunt.

Improved Audio with Faster Response
Legend 2 introduces cleaner, lower-latency Bluetooth audio, improved tone clarity, and more refined tone options (7 total). This reduces fatigue, improves target recognition, and gives faster feedback on each swing.

Smarter Pinpointing
Target ID now remains visible while pinpointing, making it easier to track and lock onto your target without second guessing — especially useful in trashy or mineralized environments.

Lighter, More Balanced
A redesigned shaft and carbon fiber components bring the weight down to just 1.2 kg. That’s lighter than the original Legend, and makes all-day detecting a breeze.

Longer Runtime, Less Downtime
Thanks to an upgraded battery system, the Legend 2 offers extended runtime, keeping you in the field longer without reaching for the charger.

Two Coils Included
No need to buy extra coils right away — Legend 2 includes both an 11" DD coil for maximum depth and a smaller 8x5.5" DD coil for tight spaces or heavy trash conditions. Ultimate versatility, right out of the box.

Easier to Pack & Travel
It now collapses down to just 63 cm (25 inches) — compact enough for backpacks, car boots, or overhead bins.

Search Mode Behaviour

Mode Best Use Default / Important Behaviour
Park Coins and jewellery in parks, urban areas and modern-trash sites. Default custom discrimination rejects IDs 1–21 and accepts IDs 22–99. Park supports all single frequencies plus Multi. Factory default Recovery Speed 5 and 2 tones. FerroCheck is especially useful for checking bottle caps and mixed trash.
Field Coin and relic hunting in pasture, cropped fields and ploughed fields. Default custom discrimination rejects IDs 1–21 and accepts IDs 22–99. Supports all single and Multi frequencies. Factory default Recovery Speed 5 and 2 tones. Park and Field use different algorithms, and IDs 21–25 can resolve differently between the two modes.
Beach Dry sand, wet salt sand and underwater detecting up to 5 m / 16 ft. Beach mode uses Multi only; single frequencies cannot be selected. Multi options are MW for wet sand/underwater and MD for dry sand with very low salinity. Factory default Recovery Speed 6 and 2 tones. Includes beach stability adjustment.
Relic Deep coins, larger masses and targets that may be close to the ground response. Relic is a specialist deep mode. It resets the ground balance of the soil and may detect deep targets that other modes miss, but fringe targets may have no ID or unstable ID. Factory default Recovery Speed 5 and 1 tone. Tone options are removed; audio frequency changes with signal strength. Includes 2nd Ground Balance and Iron Rejection.
Gold Mineralised goldfields, small shallow nuggets and larger deeper nuggets. Gold mode uses 20 kHz, 40 kHz and Multi only. Lower single frequencies are not available. Factory default Recovery Speed 5 and 1 tone. Includes audible threshold by default.

Frequency System

Simultaneous Multi Frequency

Runs multiple frequencies at the same time to cover a broader range of targets and terrain conditions. Multi frequency generally gives more stable Target IDs at depth and better performance on wet salt beaches and underwater by reducing ground noise.

Single Frequencies

4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz are available depending on the selected mode. Lower frequencies can favour larger high-conductive targets; higher frequencies can favour small low-conductive targets such as thin jewellery or small gold.

Park / Field Multi Profiles

Park and Field offer M1, M2 and M3. M1 is more sensitive to high conductors. M2 favours low conductors. M3 is suited to damp, wet or conductive soils and can reduce responses from moisture, coke and aluminium foil around ID 20–21.

Beach Multi Profiles

Beach mode uses MW for wet sand / underwater and MD for dry sand with very low salinity. If dry sand has high salinity, MW may be the better option.

Software & Menu System — Detailed Settings

Software Feature Range / Options Detail
Sensitivity 30 levels; default 25. Common to all modes. Used for depth and for controlling ambient EMI / ground noise. Manual recommends shifting frequency first before lowering sensitivity when chasing maximum depth.
Recovery Speed 1–10. Defaults: Park 5, Field 5, Beach 6, Relic 5, Gold 5. Lower values can improve depth but reduce close-target separation. Higher values improve separation in trash but can reduce detection depth.
Discrimination Patterns All Metal, Ground Off, Ferrous Off, Custom. All Metal accepts IDs 1–99. Ground Off rejects IDs 1–4. Ferrous Off rejects IDs 1–20. Custom allows individual IDs to be accepted or rejected.
Notch / Accept-Reject IDs Individual control of IDs 1–99. Each Target ID is represented by a single bar on the ID scale. Manual notch can edit one ID at a time or sequentially. Automatic notch can capture a target’s ID by sweeping it under the coil, then accept or reject that ID.
Automatic Sensitivity Reduction for Notching Temporary Low Sensitivity function. During automatic notch setup, pressing Ground Balance temporarily lowers sensitivity and displays “LS” to make unstable IDs easier to accept/reject.
Bottle Cap Rejection 0–8; default 0; Multi frequency only. Designed to make bottle caps report as iron. Off at 0.
Iron Rejection in Relic Mode 0–5; default 0. Relic-mode specific. Helps identify shallower ferrous targets by giving a lower iron-style tone depending on signal strength. Increasing it can raise the chance that deep non-ferrous targets produce a ferrous tone.
Iron Filter 1–9; Multi frequency only; not available in Relic. Helps non-ferrous targets masked by iron become detectable in trashy sites. Defaults: Park 3, Field 3, Beach 1, Gold 3. Level 9 can help classify some unwanted mid-conductors as iron.
Beach Stability 1–5; default 5; Beach mode only. Reduces beach ground noise and false signals. Higher stability gives maximum quietness but can reduce responses from low-conductive targets such as gold around ID 21.
Frequency Shift / Noise Cancellation 19 channels; default channel 10. Available for all frequencies including Multi. Can be manual or automatic. Used to reduce EMI from other detectors, power lines, cell sites, wireless radios and other electromagnetic sources.
Ground Suppressor 0–8; default 0. Designed to suppress false ground signals in difficult terrain. Recommended to leave off unless needed.
Deep Target Identification 1–3; default 3. Helps non-ferrous deep targets that are masked or detected as iron report as non-ferrous. Available in all modes except Relic and works with Multi and single frequencies.
Volume Level 10 levels; default 7. Common to all modes. Affects total detector volume and proportionally affects tone-zone volumes.
Screen Backlight 0–5 and A1–A5. 0 is off. 1–5 stays continuously lit. A1–A5 lights briefly when a target is detected or while navigating the menu, then turns off.
Keypad Backlight On / Off. Adjusted while the screen backlight setting is selected by pressing the Pinpoint & Accept/Reject button.
Vibration 0 / 1. 0 is off, 1 is on. Works on the detection screen only and can be used with audio or as vibration-only target feedback.
LED Flashlight 0 / 1. 0 is off, 1 is on. The flashlight is off at each startup to conserve battery.
Clock 12-hour or 24-hour display. Built-in clock is shown in the upper-right screen area. Time can be set from the Extra Settings menu.
Usage Duration Counter YY-MM-DD-HH format. The detector records total operating time from first use and can display lifetime usage in years, months, days and hours.
FerroCheck / Mineralization Display Option 0 = Mineralization indicator, 1 = FerroCheck indicator. Common to all modes and stored in memory after power off. Lets the same bar area serve either target ferrous/non-ferrous checking or ground mineralisation feedback.

Audio Software — Detailed

Audio Feature Specification / Behaviour
Audio Output Options Speaker, bone conduction headphones, Bluetooth headphones, multiple audio output, and wired headphones using optional adapter.
Bluetooth Audio Bluetooth mode enters pairing when selected. The display distinguishes standard Bluetooth headphones from aptX™ Low Latency headphones. Paired headphones can be deleted from memory by long-pressing Pinpoint & Accept/Reject in the Bluetooth setting.
Bluetooth Auto Shut-Off Connected headphones automatically turn off if no sound is transmitted from the detector for 14 minutes.
Multiple Audio Output When Bluetooth is connected, audio can be sent through both Bluetooth headphones and the detector speaker simultaneously.
Wired Headphones Detected automatically when connected through the optional adapter. When wired headphones are connected, audio output cannot be changed manually until they are disconnected.
Bone Conduction Headphones Dedicated output mode. If bone conduction output is selected without the headphones connected, no detector audio will be heard.
Number of Tones 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 99 or P Tone Pitch. Gold and Relic are fixed to 1 tone and cannot be changed.
99-Tone Mode Similar zone split to 2-Tone, but generates a separate tone frequency for each Target ID. Lower frequencies are used for ferrous range; mid/high tones for non-ferrous range.
Tone Pitch Audio frequency changes in proportion to target signal strength as the coil approaches the target.
Tone Volume 0–10 per tone zone. Useful for lowering unwanted target zones on trashy sites. Not active in Gold or Relic modes.
Tone Frequency 1–30 per tone zone. Used to make target categories easier to recognise by sound. Not active in Gold or Relic modes.
Tone Break Moves the ID points separating tone zones. Not available with 1-Tone, so it does not work in Gold or Relic modes.
Threshold Level 0–30. Defaults: Park 0, Field 0, Beach 0, Gold 14. Not available in Relic. Threshold helps weak, small and deep target responses stand out.
Threshold Frequency 1–30. Defaults: Park 10, Field 10, Beach 10, Gold 13. Not available in Relic.
Audio Gain 1–6. Defaults: Park 1, Field 1, Beach 5, Relic 3, Gold 1. Changes the signal-to-audio response model and can lift or reduce weak target audio output. It does not increase detection depth.

Ground, Iron & Target Analysis Software

Ground Balance

Automatic, Manual and Tracking options are available. The detector can ground balance from 00–99 in all modes, and 00–20 in Beach MW Multi frequency. Beach MD and Beach MW require separate ground balance values.

Relic 2nd Ground Balance

Relic mode adds a second ground balance to help reduce false signals from hot rocks, mineralised stones, red bricks and ground changes. In Relic mode, first and second ground balancing are automatic only.

FerroCheck™

Shows the ferrous/non-ferrous signal ratio graphically. It is most useful on stronger, shallower targets and should be checked with broad sweeps from multiple angles.

Mineralization Indicator

Can display iron and salt mineralisation. Salt mineralisation operates only in Multi frequency; single frequency displays iron mineralisation only.
